Q.1. What is the difference between “hearing” and “listening”?.Briefly describe 2 different examples of each from your own personal or work experience. (10 marks).
Q 2. You have just returned home, having had a miraculous escape from Mangalore, where your plane crashed. Write the sequence of events and your experiences in one page, remembering that a good essay has to have a subject matter, proper arrangement of ideas and power of expression to convey what you have in your mind to the reader.(10 marks).
Q 3. Prepare a project proposal in one page for a study of “Impact on farmers in a given district caused by monsoon failure and how they cope with such a situation”. (10 marks).
Q. 4. Write a brief job application letter addressed to the HR Manager of a company of your choice, applying for an advertised position, along with a one page resume, specifying your career objective.(10 marks).
