Before buying a graphic card , there are several things that you should know. I’ll tell you two things that you should look before buying your first graphic card.

1. Memory

Memory is not everything. Maybe some of us out there will think that it is better if the graphic card has a higher memory. Because it will perform faster and better graphic. Well..you’re right and wrong.

You’re right if you have a good CPU. Then, the graphic card will perform faster and better. However, if you have a bad or an old CPU, then the graphic card will not perform at optimum level.

2. GPU

Graphic Processing Unit(GPU) is something that you must know before buying a graphic card. A GPU is a dedicated memory for graphic and the two best GPUs are “Nvidia GeForce” or “ATI Radeon”.

For the best graphic performance, use these two types of GPU. Basically, you can say the higher the price the better the graphic card is. A graphic card model number is also important.

For example, rather than buying a Radeon X1300 with 512MB, it is better for you to buy a Radeon X1600 with 256MB memory.

If the model number has something like GT,GTX,XT or XTX,it would be better. You also can look at the graphic card box. Sometimes the manufacturer will show the graphic card’s speed there.

Hope these helps.
